Chief executives Ilshat Gafurov and Igor Sechin signed the comprehensive document
The partnership covers joint projects in education, research, innovation, finance, and corporate scholarships. KFU will offer undergraduate and graduate programs tailored to Rosneft’s requirements and provide advanced training for current employees.
Vice-Rector for Research, Director of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies Danis Nurgaliev comments, “Our history has been lasting for many years. The Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies regularly holds Rosneft Days, our students spend internships there, and Rosneft-administered secondary schools dispatch their pupils for contests at KFU. That’s why this agreement was a logical decision to make.”
In August 2018, Rosneft employees visited the University to discuss offshore fields of the Russian Arctic and witness the capabilities of laboratories. Since 2014, massive work has been undertaken to study Bazhenov formations, including paleomagnetic, tomographic, X-ray and biostratigraphic analysis.
Much has been done in cooperation with Rosneft-administered secondary schools. In particular, pupils can visit contests at KFU, and teachers spend time enhancing their competences at the University.
