A major event, ” Rosneft” Days”, was held at Kazan Federal University, that included a two-day highly topical program for both the students and faculty members. Cooperation agreement between Kazan Federal University and Rosneft provided maximum opportunities for interaction between all participants: a job fair, a new master program, interactive business simulation games, lectures and seminars delivered by the managers and specialists of the largest oil and gas producing company etc.
On March 28, Ilshat Rafkatovich Gafurov, the Rector of Kazan Federal University, greeted the delegation of Rosneft and thanked the company for choosing Kazan University and for the joint organization of Rosneft Days.
27 managers and specialists of the company studied in details the scientific and technological advances of KFU in the field of oil production, refining and petrochemistry during a visit to the laboratories of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies and A.M. Butlerov Chemical Institute. In addition, during the workshop venue they met with the representatives of N.I. Lobachevsky Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, Institute of Physics, Institute of Computational Mathematics and Information Technologies.
A job fair of Rosneft company appeared to be one of the main presentation sites. For the first time, several divisions of the company gathered at the University of Kazan: Orenburgneft, Samotlorneftegaz, Yuganskneftegaz, RN-BashNIPIneft, SamaraNIPIneft, Verkhnechonskneftegaz, Novokuibyshevsk Petrochemical Company, RN-Service, RN-Burenie, Syzran Refinery, Kuibyshevsk Refinery.
The students took part in the meeting with the representatives of the company’s structural divisions, applied for the internship and employment in the company as part of the vacancy fair of Rosneft. Every year, more than 50 geo- students gain experience and knowledge due to the current buddy system of the company.
Another significant event was the presentation of a new “Petroleum Engineering” Master’s degree program created jointly with Rosneft and British Petroleum, which starts in September this year. The program is designed to train highly qualified oil and gas industry specialists who have the competencies and knowledge required for implementation of the projects in Russia and abroad with the participation of international partners. The master’s degree program provides the training of the students at Kazan Federal University and, in case of having been selected, in the Imperial College of London.
Today, it may safely be said that Kazan Federal University has integrated itself into the “School-University-Enterprise” system of continuous education of Rosneft.
